SE K800i vs SE P990i

Camera Comparison:

The K800i features a Cybershot 3.2 MegaPixel Camera which is currently ruling the market. While the P990i offers a moderate 2 MegaPixel Camera which is just okey for any modest user. But the K800i surely chokes the entry level professional cameras. Sony Ericsson has made full use of its huge resources and came out with a master piece of a camera-phone.

The only difference is in the videos, while the K800i shoots the video in the ancient QCIF(176 x 144) while the p990i shoots in CIF(352 x 288).

Overall, i would say the K800i simply gives no room to p990i when compared with its photo capturing powers. After all its a Cybershot. 😉

General comparison:

The P990i is a P-series phone(PDA). So it has a Symbian Operating software while the K800i has the normal sony ericsson OS. Because of Symbian, P990i becomes a very heavy contender for the K800i. The Symbian OS opens wide array of applications that can be used with the P990i including things like rich html browsing and office softwares like Word, Excel, presentations etc.

The P990i is an ideal smartphone while k800i has the best of its line camera.

The P990i even scores more being a wi-fi phone. It allows the users to connect to wireless network at blazing speed. Both phones are 3G enabled.

Oh yes, p990 is a touchscreen phone too, k800 is not.

The p990i is basically an executive phone. For boys who just like to own technology, this can be used as a nice internet browser.

The P990i has a qwerty keyboard which might look somewhat awkward if u have never used it. But one easily gets familiar with it in no time.

So, Which one to get? 

Choose the K800i if u want awesome pics and a simple user interface. The P990i is a heavy phone too at 150 gms, while k800 is 115gms. The Cybershot takes the best pics.

And go for the P990, if you are more of an office guy who has to do presentations, use excel sheets and all that crap. If you just want a decent camera with all the functions of a smartphone, then P990i is made just for you. It is an ideal phone if u want a high speed wireless internet surfing device.
